Mahakumbh Mela Yatra 2013 India


Mahakumbh is one of the mass religious ceremonies celebrated on the earth where millions of people gathered to celebrate the faith, religion and spirituality. According to a mythological legend during a waging war between god and demons for the possession of elixir of eternal life, they fought for twelve days and nights. During the war, the celestial bird, Garuda flew away with the Kumbha of elixir. Year 2013 is the year of celebration of Maha Kumbh which is celebrated at Prayag(Allahabad) after 144 years after completing 12 Purna Kumbhas.   The Kumbh Mela at Prayag is the most grand of all the Kumbh Melas and is considered to be the holiest of them all. The Maha Kumbh Mela of 2013 begins from 27th January to 25th February 2013. According to the previous records nearly 60 million people took bath at the Purna Kumbh that was held at Allahabad in the year 2001.It is believed that the Maha Kumbh will garner even bigger gathering of devotees, sages, yogis, ascetics, mendicants, men, women and children on the planet.
